Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has administered oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Lokdarshan Regmi and Dr. Nirmal Kumar Bishwokarma as the newly appointed Nepali Residential Ambassadors to the United Kingdom and the Republic of South Africa respectively on February 25, 2021 amid a ceremony held at the President Office. Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has pardoned 15 individuals, including Mr. Salindra Yadav alias Surendra, of their prison sentences, penalties, and other punishments issued by different courts on different dates as per the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and according to the Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal and the Section 159 of the Criminal (Code) Act, 2017. Right Honourable President Pardons Remaining Prison Sentences of 179 Prisoners

Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has pardoned the remaining prison sentence of 179 prisoners, including Mr. Sudip Limbu alias Twatike, who were imprisoned for life for committing criminal offense before the promulgation of the Criminal Offences (Sentencing and Execution) Act, 2017. They were granted clemency upon the recommendation of the Government of Nepal as per the Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal and the Supreme Court’smandamus issued on 3 August 2020 for their good conduct and having served at least 50 percent of their prison sentences by the 18th of February 2021.
