In line with sub-section 3 of section 8 the Military Act 2006 and upon the recommendation of the cabinet, the Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari today the 2nd of September 2016 appointed Nepal Army’s B. No. 1181, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lt Gen Baladev Raj Mahat as the acting Chief of the Army to look after the daily administrative worksduring the absence of the Chief of the Army (COAS) Gen Rajendra Chhetri, who is leaving for Philippines to attend the Annual Chiefs of Defense (CHOD) Conference5–7 September 2016 and then going to visit South Korea to attend the Defense Expo Korea-2016 organized by Republic of Korea Army from 7 to10 September 2016 in Seoul.
