In line with section 8 (3) of the Military Act 2006 and upon the recommendation of the cabinet, the Right Honorable President Mrs.Bidya Devi Bhandariappointed Nepal Army’s B. No. 1181, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lt. Gen.Baladev Raj Mahat as the acting Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) on Wednesday the 17thof May 2017to look after the daily administrative worksduring the absence of the COAS Gen.RajendraChhetri, who is leaving for USAon the 17th of May 2017 on avisit to Alaska, US PACOM, and USARPAC and then attend the 2017 Land Forces of the Pacific (LANPAC) Conference and eventually return home on the 26thof May 2017.
