The Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted clemency for the remaining prison term of 430 prisoners, including Mr. Dilli Lamba, effective from the 29th of May 2021 upon the recommendation of the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) on May 27, 2021 according to the Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal, Clause 37 of the Criminal Offence (Punishment Determination and Execution) Act 2017, Clause 12 of the Senior Citizen Act 2006, the mandamus order (Writ No. 076-WO-0939) of the joint bench of the Supreme Court on August 3, 2020, Clause 45(4) of the Nepal Criminal (Code) Act 2017, Clause 36(4) of the Act Relating to Children 2018 and Rule 3 of Criminal Offences (Prison Term Remit) Regulation 2018.
