The visiting Nobel Laureate from friendly country Israel, Prof Dan Shechtman, who won Nobel Prize for Chemistry in
2011 for discovering quasiperiodic crystal, and his wife a professor of psychology and education Tzipora
Schechtman’s delegation consisting of scientists from Israel, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom called on the
Right Honorable President Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas, on 20th of September
2016. During the meeting, a range of subject matters came into discussion including the close diplomatic relations
between Nepal and Israel; probable bilateral exchange of assistance in educational, technological, financial, and social
sectors; and necessity to strengthen mutual relations and cooperations. On the occasion, the Ambassador of Israel to
Nepal, His Excellency Mr Yaron Meyer handed over a felicitation letter to the Right Honorable President from His
Excellency the President of Israel Mr Reuven Rivlin wishing a steady progress and prosperity of Nepalese people on
the event of Nepal’s Constitution Day 2016.
